Tuya not sending events to Apilio or Apilio not receiving them today

Hi Philipp, ( sorry!!!)
thanks for that detailed update,
Can you keep us updated on the open Ticket response from Tuya, be much appreciated.

Aqua

Hi Philipp,

Thank you very much for the detailed analysis of the problem - it makes it slightly easier to accept, knowing exactly what’s happening.

I must say that I thought I had the basis of a good, workable system, with Tuya and Apilio, but if Tuya aren’t going to take it seriously I might have to think again about buying more Tuya components. A pity, because Apilio is absolutely wonderful.

Good luck with the Tuya ticket!

This morning, still nothing - I had to re-authenticate with Tuya, but no data.

I am the same, no data arriving …

any updates from tuya oe apilio?

Hi all,
a quick update:

  • I’m in contact with Tuya support, but they were not able to ā€œunblockā€ the message delivery
  • It looks like the problem is only with the message queue for the productive environment, the others are still working
  • We are considering options, but the most promising seems to recreate the message queue. The only downside is that you will have to re-authenticate.

I expect to be able to update here in a few hours.

This is on your side yes,? and you seem hopeful also it will be back in a few hours or making progress to get there?.. do they know why it happened?

thanks for update and feedback

David (Aqua)

Just got here as my heating panels are staying on! My workaround is to disable the Apilio logic blocks and setting up simple scenes in the Tuya App. But it’s just 4 temperature sensors controlling 4 sockets so simple for me.

So unable to deactivate logic blacks as Apilio treats it as an error but have been able to remove the power attribute from the Device details hopefully that will block Apilio controls.

@Aqua I didn’t get an explanation or solution from Tuya, but I’m confident that I create and configure the new queue today.

Ok Great work Philipp

Hi Philipp,

Nothing happening at this end yet - I’ve re-authed a couple of times. I’m a bit worried (for the future) that Tuya weren’t able to correct the problem. It’s over 24 hours now since the error occurred, and that’s hardly good for automation.

Hi everyone,

the original plan to fix the issue didn’t work out as planned.
What happened at Tuya is still not clear, so I can only speculate. It looks like the queue Apilio is using for the productive service has broken. The reason could be that it is because of the age of the account - it is over 5 years old an Tuya has made many changes in between, any one may have broken the old queue.

I tried to create a new one with the current settings, but I could not get the authentication workflow working as it needs for Apilio’s use case. I will try to reach out to Tuya to get a better explanation, because the documentation is not helping.

There is a temporary fix in the meantime: I switched the queue that for the productive environment with one that is still working fine. The only downside is that you need to ā€œre-authenticateā€ (NOT a ā€œrevokeā€) the connection in Apilio at https://app.apilio.com/user/connections.

This should bring your devices back to life and the automations running again.

Let me know if this worked for you!

Hi there,

I’ve reauthenticated but still no new data is received from tuya/smart life. How long would it take after reauthenticating?

I don’t have an exact number, but I would say to wait for an hour or so and then check again.

I’ve reauthenticated also but still no new data is received from tuya.

Hi Philipp,
I’ve re-authed, waited an hour, and still no data from Tuya.

I reauthenticated, but no data is flowing into Apilio.

Same here. I just tried again this morning and after reauthenticating still no data from TUYA.

Thanks everyone for testing, this is very unfortunate.

I’m still trying to setup a new connection with the help of Tuya support, but I’m not sure the Apilio integration without an own app is supported longer.

I expect this to take days to work out, if it is even possible.
