I just installed an alarm (Abode) and am concerned with accidentally setting it off. Abode sells an indicator light which allows you to know if the alarm is “set and all clear” or “set and triggered”. It does so with an annoying and bright flashing light that only illuminates every five seconds or so.
I was able to use Apilio to turn my Philips Hue light into an indicator. If the alarm is set to Standby (unarmed), the light is white. If alarm is set to Home Armed or Away Armed, the light is red.
TLDR: If the light is red it lets me know that I’'d better turn off the alarm before I open the door. Thanks Apilio.
